Every year, the Embassy of the United States offers young Moroccans the opportunity to engage in first-hand cultural exchanges with their American peers through our diverse student and professional exchange programs.

These programs are overseen within the U.S Department of State by the bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and are managed by the U.S. Embassy and local partners, MACECE (www.macece.org) and AMIDEAST (www.amideast.org/morocco).

All U.S government- fouded exchange programs are highly competitive. Priority is given to candidates who have no or very little prior study or travel experience in the United States. Candidates are selected based on a variety of criteria that may include ( but are not limited to):

  • Academic excellence
  • Cross - Cultural interest
  • Personal Leadership ability
  • English language ability
  • Commitment to returning to Morocco to share new skills and expertise with others

Between the lines is a two-week writing workshop residency program at the University of Law with two additional days of programs in Chicago.

This pogram is open to talented, curious, enthusiatic young writers of  fiction and/or poetry who meet the following requirements:

  • Moroccan citizens residing in Morocco between the ages of 16-19
  • Able to demonstrate proficiency in English and Arabic (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Able to engage and thrive in an atmosphere that brings together different kinds of people and views 
  • Have little or no prir study or travel experience in the U.S or elsewhere outside of Morocco

SUSI is an intensive short term academic program whose purpose is to provide groups of undergraduate female student leaders with academic program whose purpose is to provide groups of undergraduate female student leaders with a deeper understanding of the United States, While simultaneously anchancing their leadership skills.

Requirements: 

  • Be a female student between the ages of 18 and 25 
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a university or other higher education institution and have at least one semester left of their undergraduate studies 
  • Be proficient in English and interested in the topic of Women's Leadership 
  • Deonstrate strong leadership qualities 
  • Have a sustained high level of academic achievement and a demonstrated commitment to community and extracurricular university activities
  • Have little or no prior study or travel experience in the U.S or elsewhere outside of Morocco

  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities 
  • Have a sustained high level of academic achivement and a demonstrated commitment to cmmunity and extracurricular university activities 
  • Have little or no prior study or travel experience in the United States or elsewhere outside of Morocco

The Student Leaders program is an intensive five-week exchange program to the United States for approximately 60 undergraduate and graduate students from the Middle East and North Africa.

Requirements:

  • Age 20 - 24
  • Demonstrated the English language skills needed to participate in a U.S academic program 
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a university  or other higher education institution and have at least one semester left of their undergraduate or graduate studies, and be committed to return to their home universities following completion of the program 
  • have a sustained high level of academic achievement and a demonstrated commitment to community and extracurricular university activities
  • Demonstrate active commitment to civic engagement 
  • Have limited or no study or travel experience outside of Morocco

The program will provide four-year university scholarshps and internship opportunities at select institutions of higher learning in the Middle East to students who have the potential to become leaders.

Requirements: 

  • Current high school senior;
  • A citizen or, national of Morocco and those qualified to hold a valid Moroccan pssport;
  • Strong academic credentials; 
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English with a minimum of 490 for the TOEFL PBTand 57 for the TOEFL iBT that is less than two years old;
  • Students who qualify may be eligible for up to one year of intensive English Language training; 
  • Maturity, flexibility and leadership potential;
  • Ability to start the program in August/ September

TechGirls is a three-week youth exchange program that focuses on the high-level study of technology while fostering mutual understanding between youth of the United States and the MENA region. The exchange is designed to empower young girls to pursue careers in the science and technology sectors.

Requirements:

  • Be a high school student between the ages of 15 and 17 
  • Demonstrate interest in the applied use of technology 
  • Have strong English language skills

Global UGRAD Program is a merit-based scholarship for outstanding undergraduate students to study in the U.S. for one semester in a non-degree full-time study program. 

Requirements:

  • Moroccan citizenship and have at least 18 years old
  • Be enrolled in a undergraduate program at a university or higher education institution in Morocco with at least one semester left before graduation 
  • Demonstrated academic axcellence, cross-cultural interest, and leadership potential 
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English

The YES program provides scholarships for Moroccan high school students to spend one academic year in the United States.

Requirements:

  • Have a record of high academic achivement
  • Will be entering grade 10 or 11 the following Fall semester
  • Meet the minimum English proficiency requirement
